I make images using photographic film as well as digital technologies. My film cameras include a variety of 35mm tools, a medium format Mamiya RZ67 system and a TOYO 4x5 large format camera system. In addition to teaching courses in composition, colour theory and the history of photography, I teach complete courses in chemical photography laboratory from developing films to printing negatives to paper on various enlargers. My classes are as technically deep as is appropriate for the students and course level to which I teach. I print my film photography projects using my personal studio. I use a hybrid approach, employing a very high resolution film scanner to digitise my images, post-production in Adobe tools and then, after colour profiles have been created for screen and printer using a photospectrometer, I print my work on my Canon Prograf 2000 Large format, dual roll printer. For my purely digital projects, I use only full frame 35mm technology with imaging resolutions to 46 megapixel.
